A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Travel is not, as many would have us believe, the perfectly curated and posed images we see all over social media. It’s not the beautifully executed plate of food or the immaculate, smiling children.

Travel is, as the title of this magazine suggests, moments in time that are captured forever in our memories and in our hearts. It’s the lingering taste of the dish made with local ingredients. It’s the sound of children’s laughter as they run along the beach or see a favourite character from the television. It’s the feeling when we gaze up in wonder at the painted dome of an Italian church; the intense flavour of the perfect gelato; the thrill we get when we go out of our comfort zone with an adrenaline-rush shore experience; and the peace we feel when we have a few solitary moments watching the sun rise on the cabin balcony.

Travel hits all our senses, and in this issue we celebrate with features that will inspire you to taste, touch, smell, hear and see all that P&O Cruises has to offer.

As we look ahead to the launch of Arvia, entertainment is in the spotlight. Guests can pit their wits against each other with WaveLength, our new interactive game show created by TV’s Ben Shephard, and laugh with La Voix in The Limelight Club. Savour the flavour of Golden Tide rum, our exclusive new spirit created in collaboration with The Tidal Rum, and try something new at Green & Co feat. Mizuhana, which showcases plant-based dishes along with a sushi bar with some exquisite flavours I’ve been lucky enough to taste.

On shore, we go off the beaten path in Tenerife and discover the riverside charm of Hamburg. We also meet creative minds from the Caribbean island of Antigua – one of the turnaround ports, along with Barbados, for Arvia’s maiden season in the new year. Antigua’s palm trees, white sands and clear, turquoise waters are just one side of this incredible island, which so many of you love.
